International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day is held on 8th March every year and has been observed since the early 90’s. International Women’s Day began in the USA and was led by vocal and active women who challenged inequality and discrimination and demanded better working conditions, equal pay and increased rights. It is now globally recognised across developed and developing countries and is a national holiday in many countries. Through a rich and diverse fabric of national and local activity, International Women’s Day connects women from around the world and enables them to honour women’s advancement and celebrate women’s achievement.

As part of this years celebrations the Chief Executive and the Corporate Management Team (CMT) invite colleagues to join us in a range of events which celebrate ‘Women in Thurrock’
